I've tried to get both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version working and no luck.

Is it just completely incompatible?

Are you using plugin sandboxing? I've just had a quirk with Falcon and plugin sandboxing, and therefore need to disable it.

But on a Mac I've run the demo of Serum and it works fine.

The 32-bit version VST's won't work in waveform at all, so don't bother trying them, unless you've got some other method of bridging set up.
