In the extended FMO waveforms , ( which I assume are based on the dx 11) the quadratic sine is a sine cubed .

Shouldn't a quadratic sine be sine*sine = unipolar sine ?

This shoud be aquadratic sine , no ?

Also , the waveform we're really looking for ( according to the dx11 manual ) is this one ,(still strugling how to get it done ) , only aurora fm provides the correct waveforms

Edit it seems that the actual 2nd waveform onthe dx 11 is indeed cubed , so the last picture I posted above ( from aurora fm synth ) is not really accurate , altough it does like the artists impression in the dx 11 manual
But why is it called quadratic sine in zebra ?

It is a very interesting topic indeed. And personally I've been examine different TX waveform, fun fact that TX, DX11 (aka V1), V50 and SY/TG series seem they have same waveform for the naked eye, but once putting these waveforms in audio analysis, they look different, but still sounds nearly identical.

The manufacturer however didn't intend to create these waveforms based on certain math formula, since the idea was to have specific (operator) shapes that emphasize specific spectrum when they are being modulated in the FM processes.

The important factor here, since it is known that almost all "FM" synthesizers are actually modulating the phases of the waveforms, we need then to consider the harmonic phases of the waveform. And these phases do all the tricks :)

This is TX Wave2, it may look simple, but it has lots of harmonics.

Putting this waveform into Sytrus operator, it sounds identical since its engine captures upto 256 partial harmonics.

If we just mimic the sound (spectrum-wise), the result shape looks different :? well not really :D

By adjusting only a couple of harmonic phases, the waveform now looks (almost) the same to the target shape...

Ok all very interesting. .. but how do I get these waveforms in to zebra and sytrus and how do I create a thick punchy lately bass?

Post

The waveforms are allready there
Here's solid bass , to change t lately bass just change fmo 3 waveform

For Sytrus, both VST version & FL native version.

sin(x) * abs(sin(x))

I hadn't had reference hardware at the time, I tried my best to match the waveforms with gritty little images from scanned user manuals while at the same time avoiding excessive aliasing.

Post

But ,but the zebra quadratic sine only has two harmonics just like sine^3
Image
When sin(x) * abs(sin(x)) should have a lot more

It looks like you implemented a sine^3 instead of sin(x) * abs(sin(x)

That's possible entirely, too... I don't really remember.
