WHAT THE ARTISTS SAY:
"Windmaschine is such a cool “instrument”. I love how flexible and completely thought out the interface is. The Windhowler was already a great library but this elevates those sounds 10 times at least. There are so many great sounds in here. Thanks!!!"
David Farmer
(The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies / Avengers (Infinity War & End Game) / Ant Man and the Wasp)
"Windmaschine is a great way to quickly create and dynamically perform those classic rushing wind sounds you are looking for. I love how it not only faithfully recreates the original windhowler device but also adds new features like convolution reverb that really open it up to creating a much larger palette of new sound possibilities."
Tim Farrell
(Star Trek: Discovery / Star Trek: Picard / The Walking Dead
"For Star Wars Battlefront (1), one of our overriding goals was to work with the original recordings as much as possible.
One of the components of the icy Hoth winds in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was clearly from the Mole Richardson machine; some of the raw material even had “Mole Wind” in the name!
Initially, the material in Tonsturm’s “Windhowler” library was a perfect complement to this original material and helped flesh out our version of Hoth.
Then, when we started working on SWBF2, Tonsturm was kind enough to let us have early access to their beta version of Windmaschine. It enabled us to authentically extend the sound pool and add a whole new layer of timbres and fidelity that would have been hard to achieve without the flexibility of this wonderful instrument."
Ben Minto
(Star Wars: Battlefront / Battlefield / Mirror’s Edge / Black / Burnout)
“Windmachine is the most fun I’ve had in a while. Wind can be so tricky, the ability to ‘perform’ it using this new instrument, is just plain rewarding, and the variety of sounds it can produce, even after playing with it for just a few minutes, is pretty astonishing.”
Tim Nielsen
(Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance / Solo / Moana / Finding Dory)
