Vocal Problems

Good Morning All,

I'm having a problem with T7 in where my levels in the box don't match my exports.
This happens with vocals. In Tracktion they sound good but when I take an export the vocals sound like they've been run through a speaker made of tin foil (ie. extreme clipping). The vocals are usually organised with typical plugins:

Vox: Red 3 Comp & EQ and Tracktion Reverb.
This Contains:
- Lead Vox {2-5 Tracks of Audio}: No Additional Processing
- Backing Vox {12+ Tracks of Audio}: Usually No Additional Processing
- Effect Chains (up to 3 chains) {As Many Tracks as Necessary}
The Master Chain: Very Light Tracktion Verb

Any help would be much appreciated.

So it sounds fine during normal playback but distorts when rendered? That doesn't sound familiar, but maybe try disabling all the reverbs and render again. I recall having some issues with Tracktion's reverb.

Also, are you using folders and/or submixes? They have been the cause of some problems.

I guess general advice is just to make changes until the problem stops and use that to track down the cause.

This happening on all your projects or just one project?

What's your OS? Audio device? Can you supply a video or screen capture?
