Play more than one VST at the same time.

I guess this is another 'stupid' question from a beginner Tractioneer.

Is it possible to play several VST's at the same time, and if it is, can somebody explain the procedure to me 'idiot proof'

I would like to control a few VST's at once with my Edirol PCR 80 and so far no luck

Hi Willem,

I suppose you want that one midi track send it's output to multiple VSTi's ?

If that is the case, yes it is possible. Have a look at the racks of Tracktion. You can build your own rack with the VSTi's you want and put the rack on the output of your track. You can even add some midi filters to your rack so you can determine exactly wich VSTi receives wich data.

I only recently discovered the rack feature in Tracktion, but can assure you that it is very powerfull.

Another PCR-80 owner, cool!

Go thou to http://www.adbe.org/ and click on 'Guides' in the right hand of the screen, then pick 'go there' for Tracktion guides, where you'll find a handy Rack Filter guide. Rack Filters are how I do it, along with some MIDI filter plugins (Rack Bitz and such) that let me do keyboard layers and splits with VSTi.

It takes a bit to wrap your head around racks, but once done it's well worth it! You can do scary and weird things with racks.
