I thought I'd make a quick walkthrough of MDrumReplacer and show the basics of how to use it and what it can do. Of course it has some similarities with MDrumEnhancer and if you are curious in the future I can do a video comparing them. Anyway I hope this helps.

Great video :tu: - but I think it illustrates some issues related to ghost notes on the snare and spillover from highhat.

Is it possible to narrow the detection engine to work only on specific frequencies and possibly there harmonics, eliminating spillover. Or possibly having an phasecancelation from an aligned sidechain signal in a multimiked setup.

Is it possible to trigger different drums from at drum empire preset/patch, matching the transient volume with the velocity curve in the drum preset/patch - making it sound better with ghost notes?

Yes. The video didn't show the Detector settings:

Yes it is actually possible to have the detector focus on certain frequencies or exclude them, but I didn't want to make the video too long by going into all the features. Maybe I'll cover it in a separate video. Also this is something I beleive MDrumenhancer is better at. You don't have to mess with settings to get it to track properly. MDrumreplacer is IMO better at things that don't involve ghost notes or fast notes.

Can it separate complete drum kits into individual midi parts? (sorry, i haven't watched the video)

Post

Does it have a MIDI output function?
I have a lot of KONTAKT and Toontrack drum libraries.
I want to use those samples to replace the drums.
So I need MIDI output.
Sorry for my poor English.

Post

Is it possible to bring those libraries into MDR? In which case several layers of input/output transformation would be avoided...just a thought.../s~

Uhg, I was hoping for this software to be better at handling ghost notes. For me, drum replacement and triggering ghost notes (along with full hits) has been the crux for snare replacement. I’ll give Detection a shot at it.

A video tutorial for using Detection would be very helpful, thanks.

Is it possible to route the different parts of the sample (different mics) to other channels in my daw? So that I can replace a full kit but all oh samples shows up in a by me created OH channel in my DAW. That is the feature I miss from Trigger... and cymbals.
