Can someone advise on what the "speed" and "speed mode" settings on MAutoVolume mean?

I'm trying to figure out exact numbers of what the "speed" and "speed mode" settings are, but couldn't find documentation anywhere.

You have to set it by ear. There is a visualisation where you can see what’s happening.
