I’m trying to understand if there’s a way to build multiple takes in a track without doing them all at once. My understanding is the official workflow is:

* Create a track
* Put Waveform in loop recording mode
* Set the loop In/Out points
* Record your first take until it loops
* Record your second take until it loops
* etc

The problem is, I don’t want to record all the takes in a row, all at once. I want to record a couple of takes, drink some coffee, think a minute, then record another take, then go get lunch, then record another take, etc.

At first I recorded a couple of takes, stopped, then tried doing another loop recording in the same track, but that just created two overlapping clips in the track, which was really confusing. Eventually I had to create a new track and record the new takes there, but now I’ve got 2 takes in one track, and 3 in another. It’s all very messy, and I’d like to keep them together in one track. Is there a better way to do this??

Thanks for the reference. It’s a shame that this hasn’t been improved.
