Who's The Downvoter?

Who is the one downvoting everything?
There are people - I repeat: PEOPLE - here that have honest questions. Your negativity doesn't help create an environment of learning. You are sure to receive the negativity you display in turn.
Find something else to do with your life.

I have written KVR with a request that they eliminate anonymous downvoting. Negativity for the sake of it is the antithesis of creativity. Hence, these anonymous downvoters don't belong on KVR - a forum dedicated to making things.
If you agree, please send an email to KVR support. You can copy paste the following message if you don't know what to say:
I support the elimination of anonymous downvoting.

Feel free to share this post on other subforums on KVR that you might visit.
Thanks.

Be careful with this kind of wishful thinking, I got 10 downvotes for it. I still have a trauma, I probably need a therapy how to become more unconcerned

I never notice the thumbs until someone mentions them. Just ignore what they say, it's completely irrelevant. I agree that KVR should remove them, but only because they are a waste of space and computational power. They provide absolutely no value to me. But I wouldn't waste a second feeling bad about whoever up it down votes whatever part.

If I'm the only one it irritates then good. I've just been meaning to say something.
When Facebook didn't have downvotes, I thought it was stupid. Then I noticed on Gearslutz there are only upvotes. Other forums have the names associated with likes. Reddit at least has a purpose for voting.
Here, it's just anonymous negativity. Melda releases an update? Downvote. Someone has an honest question? Downvote. It's pretty lame.
But, hey, if that's what these people do with their lives then less competition for me!

Its just a bunch of pixels on a screen, youre too invested in your own emotional interpretation.

Well, just try to ignore it. These downvoting people are most likely some trolls, who do not know how to express their feelings in a different way. In the end, I think, they are just to be pitied.

The up and down votes don't really "do" anything, do they? Like if posts or users got a score based on them, or you could see who did and did not agree with you, who is giving personal thanks for the information you posted, then they would at least have a microscopic amount of significance. As it is, they don't. I wouldn't even assume the people doing the voting either way even read the message(s) or can even read. Assume that it's someone's little brother who walked up to their computer and is downvoting anything that doesn't have b00bies in it. Meldaproduction's UI features knobs and sliders, but no b00bies, so automatic downvote.

I hope so, haha. The only thing they are doing is making the KVR forum look a bit more like crap from the 90ies and a bit more unprofessional (at least to me), unfortunately.Starship Krupa wrote: Mon Dec 28, 2020 12:30 pm The up and down votes don't really "do" anything, do they?
Upvoting, well ... ok. Could be handy to see how many people might like a feature request for example (just look into the official Imageline forums). But downvoting is simply one of the most supid ideas ever these days with all the troll kiddos.

You know what. I totally agree with this. KVR should eliminate anonymous down voting. The anonymous down voting makes the entire voting buttons useless and pointless. Usually in a forum you use this sort of thing to eliminate threads from being displayed that have gone too far off topic and are spiraling into flame wars and rubbish threads that have no value.
The way the U-he threads have been going on is a great example of down voting creating mass confusion from what wold have been a supposedly useful thread and resource to gain more info on does the high price actually make any sense. (Forget about the bolded "%" marketing blurbs -- that U-he and NI deal bundle deal is about the same price as a FabFilter total bundle on sale). You should be able to go to a place like KVR and ask valid questions and get informed responses.
