Auto arm and focus questions.

Hi I upgraded from 9 to 11 recently and I have two questions about waveform. Is there a way to auto arm the selected track for recording? And I am having problems with the programs focus. If I work on a third party plugin I cannot play the track. I have to click somewhere in waveform so it gets focus and then press play.
