Melda needs better marketing.

So....the KVR awards were last month, and Melda wasn't on one of the catogories. MSF has more potential than Kontakt, yet it wasn't even mentioned.... Nor Mturboreverb over Valhalla.
Melda needs a bigger following. Melda needs to be known as a one stop powerhouse, not an obscure left pick for those who know it's potential.
Melda worked way to hard and they should be incredibly proud. But they deserve better recognition
They need to replace Fabfilter, Izotope and Native instruments.........

1) Maybe if they employed a professional UI/UX designer?
2) I'm always fascinated how people get so emotionally attached to what is essentially just a business that wants you to buy their products. And even more, get so worked up about it that they wish bad upon other companies ("They need to replace ..."). Why is that?

Few weeks ago, here was a similar thread, about why Melda isn't more popular. Finally Vojtech responded clearly, that the business is running to his satisfaction and all MFans can sleep well
So don't you think, there would be a job posting for a marketing specialist, if Melda would like to change their business strategy and work on their popularity?

the melda minions were already suggesting and voting for the kvr awards and trying to push melda (even mentioned it in threads in here and it continues with those strange "oh i'm so in love with melda" posts). just accept that other tools are more welcome. and imo it's not smart to create one similar "they need to change this", "why are they not popular", "they are better than all" thread after another, you only create another playground for opinions you might not like and then the crying is big...

One is crying, one is laughing, so is life. @Underoath77, is another thread covering same topic constructive?

Yup. If they wanted to be “popular,” perhaps Melda would make more than a token effort to being easily accessible to a broader audience.
On the other hand, if Melda’s goal is to provide specialized tools that meet the designer’s vision and that a subset of potential users feel passionate about - and to be clear, I think that is a perfectly fine, rational, worthwhile goal - then they should absolutely keep going down that path.
I personally have three Melda plugins (including MSoundFactory, which I got on the very cheap intro sale), and while I am in no way dissatisfied with my purchases and find each very useful from time to time, I am among the many people who find them deeply unintuitive and hard to use.

1. I think the topic is totally ok. People should express what they think or feel. And if someone wants to talk about a company's marketing, so be it. As a reader, I am always free to leave if it is too much for me.
2. I came to Melda doing a little research. When looking for a (not totally) free package containing bread and butter stuff, it is a company you come across automatically (besides Voxengo, Blue Cat and others). Then I tried to get my head around the free tools, succeeded and continued to use them. This package then was an "entry level drug" to the whole ecosystem, so I bought in. End of story.
No marketing e-mails or shiny GUIs were necessary. There is a (somewhat quiet) marketing concept behind the company's activities, including eternal sales, giveaway products, special pricing for MSF in beta, activities here on KVR (Vojtech, Chandler, folks from the community producing lots of useful devices). This quiet strategy suits me, as I hate advertising and aggressive campaigns. And I think Vojtech is happy with the kind of customers he has and gets. It is not good for a company to sell to people who are likely to be unhappy with what they got and communicate this far and wide. It is better this way.

Because they actually listen a lot of the time. It's the same with REAPER. There constantly people telling Cockos how to do their job.chk071 wrote: Sun Jan 03, 2021 2:24 pm What is it with Melda that their users always try to tell them what to do?![]()
I think it's nice when Devs are approachable, although some people take it way too far with their (attempted) involvement.

IMO, a developer needs to have a clear vision of what his software and business should be like. And Melda has that. I've never come across a forum user who knows better than the dev himself, frankly. If you want user input, it's a thin line really. If you implement every use wish, then you will end up with a completely chaotic Frankenstein of a software. So, at the very least, I would say user input has to be treated very cautiously. After all, the user decides which software he wants to buy in the first place.
