Hi folks,

next update is here ;). 14.16 is an important update which comes up with several improvements, features, bug fixes and MSoundFactory instruments. It is also the first version with Apple Silicon ARM CPU support. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

See the list of changes for further information:

Vojtech, can you give a bit of context for the M1 support ... is it simply compatible or have you completed an optimized build for the M1 processor? To be clear there are no wrong answers here I just need to know how far along you are to being able to fully exploit the M1. Thanks for your quick updates as usual.

Understood, yes, it is optimized build for ARM. Interestingly the previous versions actually worked in Logic (probably bridged through Rosetta 2), but I wouldn't call that "Apple Silicon support" ;)

Maybe Apple isn't so bad afterall. Many of us would like to see a Melda truce with Apple and an endorsement. The M* chips are definitely a game changer and Apple's forced upgrade on Catalina can be seen as necessary to get to the M* architecture. The graphics upgrade to Metal will enable them to merge all iOS/Mac apps which will open lots of great revenue avenues for developers.

Copy preset as XML? Yeah, another dream I didn't dare to ask for a feature request. Great! Thank yo very much again!

I never had a problem with Apple per-se, it's their attitude towards developers and backwards compatibility that annoys pretty much every developer out there, most just don't say it, well I was never into lying :). But it kinda seems that their attitude is changing, I hope, I don't want to be overly optimistic though :).

Congrats on the release. Glad to see M1 optimization.

MDrummer:
The plugin can now search for missing samples and other resources.

That has made my day! Thanks Vojtech!

Thanks for the new instruments. Hope to see those Flutes and Strings categories fill out, though. A bansuri would be sweet.

I was already impressed with the high quality oversampling and am glad to see they have improved it with this update. I hadn't used Melda stuff extensively for about 8 years or so and I really like the way they have progressed. Most of the plug-ins are now very straightforward to operate with the initial interface. And diving deeper seems easier and more productive now. I jumped in and got the Complete bundle during the holiday sale and the sound quality on most of the plug-ins is very good. No buyer's remorse here. The basic EQ and compression options are excellent. I particularly like the MModernCompressor.

After a discussion in a thread where I expressed my enthusiasm for Melda I had again to think about why I like them so much, while for sure there are many other cool plugins on the market.
That's the point (and I also love UHE für that): I can use them on any Computer lying around and any new computer without activation processes etc. and they just develope further while I have to do nothing. With Melda it's lifetime updates without anything to do or additional costs. That's worth paying the (high) price only one time.

Vojtech I am wondering if you have done any performance efficiency tests with the m1 processor as it pertains to the recent update? Specifically are you finding that the M1 processor is surprising in any way in terms of what your end users might expect when running your plugins (good, bad or somewhere in-between) . Poorly worded but I think you get the gist.
