You know, I was trying to keep Tracktion from all my beat makin bros. I guess that idea's down the drain .

Scratch Magazine (not a software geared mag at all)
Mackie Tracktion

nice screenshot

There was a time when you had to be rich, famous, or criminal-minded to record with quality software. Those days are over. Mackie's Tracktion is a low-cost recording and MIDI production option for PC or Mac. Its non conventional interface turns heads; no more jugling back and fourth between different screens, everything is intergrated in one simply arranged page. Though it has no dedicated mixer environment, dont be mad, becuase Tracktion supports any sample rate and you can record and play back limitless tracks (CPU and storage space permiting). Available by download only from Mackie's website, Tracktion is not intimidating, its's easy to learn and it gets the job done. $149

I just got this mag yesterday...isn't it awesome??? Finally, a hip-hop magazine minus all the glitzy bullshit that hip-hop seems to represent today.

Incidentally, in the same issue 9th Wonder acknowledges making tracks with Fruityloops and Cool Edit Pro.

$149?
Since when?
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Yup. I like it cuz its more about the people behind the beats. Aswell as some of their technique. I cant believe 9th wonder is still gettin questions about using FL. I mean its old news now. People just refuse to believe it.

Dope mag indeed. f**k the Source.

I guess other mags are starting to quote the prices at 149 aswell. I think the MSRP on the website is 149 too. Thats probably gonna be T2's price. Good price point I think.

From mackie.com:
Looking to produce music on your computer the easy way? Buy Tracktion today for the special online price of $80 (US).

Yeah "online price" is 80 bux. But boxed price is 149 right now. So if you pay them 149 they'll download it, burn it on cd, and send it to your house.

pffft... they'll grab a box off the shelf, scribble your address on a 'Hello my name is' tag, slap it on the box and throw it in the mailroom trolley. Then light up another fatty and laugh.

(;))

well that's what I'd do

Its not a turntablist mag. There is some articles about legend dj's. And also a section on turntablist technique with charts on how to try the different moves. If I was a hip hop DJ I would get the mag. I dont know if they have it in the UK. Heres the link.
