the prophet 6 i have now got a software update called 'vintage knob', that introduces per voice variations of pitch, cutoff, env, etc... and it's just lots of fun for all kinds of sounds, even though the effect is really quite intense past 50% (i think if i had a synth in the past that behaved like that, i would have gotten it serviced
but the thing is, this is very easy to use and leads to lots of great, playable, interesting sounds.
Arturia also did something like this in the new Jupiter 8 update, but made it more adjustable and i just think they hit a sweet spot between number of parameters and simplicity.
maybe an extra master-scaling parameter would have been nice, but it's quite good as it is now.
f.e. DSI's implementation is sometimes too strong on the cutoff, but cool with the detuning and you can do nothing about it.
the obvious question: would it make sense to implement something like this in repro, which to my ears sounds AT LEAST as good as the hardware P6? the P6 is also round-robin only, the jupiter only reallocates, repro obviously can do both!
i also included the nice poly-portamento section from the jupiter in the picture, just for further inspiration and even turned it to 10
cheers!
