Only low levl sound recorded from mic

I just bought a Sennheiser e609 mic and plugged it into my Lexicon Alpha mic.

I enabled record in Audacity, Ardour 5, Mixbus and Waveform11 but get only low level sound from any of them.

I'm using Jack under Mint 20.1

Help please.

Is the sound low level in the headphones of the lexicon?

Are you using an XLR cable from the microphone into the XLR input on the lexicon?

Thanks, but I bought a M-Audio Air 192/6 and the mic now works fine.
