I've been using it since it came out. It's not multi-band (there are no bands), its spectral. It works on a wide range. The user can specify bell and shelf bands to control the amount of the effect within a given freq range. but yes it's a spectra transient processor.

It's my go-to transient processor. Drive it through distortion or a limiter/clipper and you're good to go.

soothe2 is amazing (i know, not exactly on-topic); i use it in my mastering setup, it's become essential. just mentioning!
