I've brought this up before recently, but I have new info. It may even be a bug.

Essentially there is no true Tracktion cursor mode.

As a long time Tracktion user I use "track area drag: drag to locate playhead" because it is what I am used to, but the problem is that I can't select clip(s) then freely move the cursor, without them becoming deselected. Something you've always been able to do in Tracktion.

The possible bug is that "clicking background to locate cursor" has no effect in this cursor mode as far as the actual background. It will locate the cursor no matter what when clicking on the background. But, if you click on clips, then it does have an effect. With "clicking background to locate cursor" deselected you can select a clip without moving the cursor. It's the drag past a certain threshold that locates the cursor. This is what we need for the background clicks as well. When "clicking background to locate cursor" is DESELECTED it should require a DRAG to locate the cursor. That way you can select clip(s) and drag the cursor around anywhere without them becoming deselected (very handy feature). I suspect this may have been the intention and it was just never noticed.

Please take this into consideration. Besides being sentimental I think it really adds functionality without taking anything away.

Let me know if this makes sense. If anyone still has Tracktion, check it out and back me up!
