Hi Waveform devs,

First let me start by thanking you very much for your Linux support. I have seen nothing but improvements in stability since T7. Nonetheless, as a fellow IT/Programmer I do have to complain about the Tracktion plugins integration with the DAW. I am talking about the pay-for ones, of course.

I grabbed them during the last flash sale and I was disappointed not by their sound or function, but rather by the lack of integration in the DAW interface. See how the built in 4 Band Equalizer integration inside the bottom dock area or inside the mixer? I expected nothing less from the ones I pay extra money for and made by the same company. In the IT world, that lack of effort is a job half-way done.

I am sorry for the rant and I am sure you guys might be working on more important under the hood stuff but that integration is what makes users most happy. Candy is just as important :)

Stay safe,
Seb

That level of integration isn't readily possible within the confines of the plugin standards that exist (AU, VST), and the plugins are not specific to the Waveform DAW but are made generic to work across a range of DAWs.

The few DAWs that do offer integration of that nature with externally added plugins (Reason for example) are generally limited to plugins that are specific to that DAW and those plugins will not work with other DAWs.

Others (such as FL Studio) simply integrate the plugins into the DAW and when you purchase them you are just adding a license that makes them visible.

Maintaining versions of the plugins which are specific to Waveform in addition to the generic ones would probably just bog down the developers and they would get less done overall.

The EQ you mentioned is integrated into the DAW and not an external plugin, so it can easily behave a bit differently.

I understand and would certainly never expect such integration with 3rd party plugins. I was more thinking along side that both (built in plugin and external) MIGHT share some code, certainly the rendering/displaying libraries and possibly methods and calls that might ease that integration and would give them a special extra when used in their "home daw".

Nonetheless, good job guys!
