Meters only when outputting certain channel (bug?)

Hello all,

I have a EMU 0404 interface. Through it's mixer software it allows you to set up several 'channels' to send audio through (like a virtual mixer). Waveform handles this but will only display the main level meter if I have audio coming in the first channel (1/2). If my setting are set to have the main audio as channels 3/4 then the meters don't work. The meters on each individual track work, but not the main meters.

Is this a known problem? I would think it should sum all the various channels to one main level meter no matter where the audio is coming from. Might this have something to do with why Waveform takes over all audio on the system when it's running? (see here)

If I'm reading you correctly, you mean the master output will not pickup signal assigned to hardware outs other than the default channels in your interface?

You could create a submix track assigned to your secondary hardware output, and route whatever through it, so you get a meter.

The issue with system audio cutting off isrelated to your interface drivers. Usually, setting the same sampling rate in asio and windows will do the trick, but I had an 0404 usb at one point as well, and remember it was specially finicky (was a lifetime ago, can't recall details or whether I could get it to work).
