Gig performer's widgets and scripts allowed for a nice, seamless control of MSuperLooper without opening the plugin. (Of course I have it open here for demonstration purposes, showing how each "widget" communicates bidirectionally with MSuperLooper.

As you know, host automation for starting recording and accessing any of the buttons is not a problem, but getting visual feedback of what is going on is another story. That was much more challenging! This is where Gig Performer's unique approach with custom widgets and scripts came in handy. Now I can comfortably operate the MSuperLooper live without having to open the plugin itself and still know which track, and which loop is playing, where I want to record next, and just about anything I'd want to do. Check out this short screen recording.

Looks great! Let us know if you share the GP project. I intend to start using GP at some point.

Hey, but if you use sync option and click to record msuperlooper waits a bit before recording while your looper shows that its recording, for generic looping msuperlooper works, but as soon as it gets more complex, everything brakes. Everyday im checking and hoping for this feedback option so i can make msuperlooper viable for live looping, because now it just gives me a lot of anxiety, try to make at least 10 loops, volume measuring indication not gonna help.

Thanks for sharing this info, I just got my GP4 last week.
Very, very cool, and pretty flexible to say the least.
I'll have to look at doing it that way, thanks to Global rackspace which is of course where it needs to live.

You mean with the sync option MSuperLooper waits for the 1 in the next bar? That still works that way of course. The only thing missing in this setup, you are correct, is the visual length of the loop and the progress bar in it. Unfortunately MSuperLooper does not have a parameter for that, so couldn't make that happen.

However, honestly, its not that important (for me anyway). I know where the next 1 is going to be, so I know when the recording starts and I also know when it ends (either by setting it to a certain number of bars in advance, or by pressing "next" or "mark end" -which I didn't need, but could certainly add). From that point on, I just listen to the loop(s) and by seeing which loop is active (between the lit up loop button and the corresponding volume level), that's enough info for me to know what's going on. If its really important to see the visual length of the bar, I have a button in the upper right corner and it opens the plugin immediately.

However, in a live gig, I just need a simple, minimalist layout, a visual feedback of the most important pieces of information, easy to understand (and control) at a glance. This accomplishes that for me. With Gig Performer, I need access to my other sounds/widgets etc, and this interface allows me to scroll to my other settings if needed and back, or have this and my regular rackspace visible at the same time, rather than having the plugin window open taking up 90% of the screen scpace.

My pleasure! It was not easy! The link for the main buttons was easy and MSL has good automation sync for those. However, with their limited parameters, often 1 way communication, creating the visual feedback was a JOB!!! But at least, with GP, it was possible.

Indeed! that's where it is! The global rackspace rocks! :)

I think one of the main issues with MSL right now, is that it saves the audio in the plugin itself. This makes the gig file HUGE (unless all audio is purged before saving). I don't know why it is this way. It should save audio files somewhere else.

Update: Another (scripting pro) member in the GP community is working on a script to make the loop length and progress a visual reality in this interface, so hang tight! Looks awesome! :)
