Okay, just so I'm clear about Basic and Standard

First, I see the Pro version offered for, like, $69, but when I click Buy, now my choices start with Basic, which is $119.00 In the immortal words of the Three Stooges, "Wha happen?"
That aside, am I to understand that the Basic bundle does NOT include an EQ or a compressor; you have to get Standard to get those?
Thanks.

You're talking about the current 40% discount?Starkman wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 5:12 am First, I see the Pro version offered for, like, $69, but when I click Buy, now my choices start with Basic, which is $119.00 In the immortal words of the Three Stooges, "Wha happen?"
What happened is probably that you didnt notice the bit that says 'automatic discount at checkout' or proceed to adding Basic to your cart; the latter would indicate what the price you're going to get charged actually is. For me it gets listed as $71.40 here, but UK, exchange rates, brexit, covid, rainfall yada yada...
The Basic bundle explicitly says it includes Waveform Pro. You can get the feature list for Waveform Pro in the form of the comparison list between that and the free version. That aside, am I to understand that the Basic bundle does NOT include an EQ or a compressor; you have to get Standard to get those?

That comparison says it includes
Master Mix DSP
DAW Essentials DSP Collection
Artisan Plugin Collection
There are definitely EQs and compressors in there
https://www.tracktion.com/products/master-mix
https://www.tracktion.com/products/daw- ... collection
The Artisan Plugin Collection is a large set (about 120?) of plugins from the AirWindows plugin set, reskinned specifically for Waveform. I reckon there are about 6 EQs and 10 dynamics plugins in the set on my copy of W11.
If that's not sufficient, there are plenty of very capable 3rd-party free EQs and compressors out there. I think a lot of people would agree that, for example, the Tokyo Dawn Labs free plugins are worth recommending, as are many others. Spend some time on the Effects forums, Im sure you'll see plenty of other recommendations.

About this, I’m not sure how you could have the DAW Essentials DSP Collection…
I had W8 OEM with a behringer control surface, then updated to W10 Pro, then W11 Pro, and never had this DAW Essentials DSP Collection…

First, I'm a beginner here, so I never got to the Cart. And just browsing around the site, including looking at the price comparison, I didn't see anything anticipating a discount.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 10:45 am You're talking about the current 40% discount?

As I see it, and I looked closely at the price comparison of the link you gave and at this link (https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-pro-buy), no, the Essensentials is not in the Basic package; part of the reason to buy the Pro version is because it has the Essentials.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 10:45 am

The EQ I was talking about was the plain EQ mentioned in the list of Essentials. Sorry for the confusion there.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 10:45 am There are definitely EQs and compressors in there

If I'm missing something here, then I can't attribute that to my fault; that's poor design (but good marketing!) on the Website. But thanks for the input.

Can anyone else jump in and tell me if the Basic package comes with a standard EQ, compressor and reverb, as is part of the Pro version's Essential DAW? I can't imagine Basic not having these, but I want to be sure I understand what's going on.

It looks like Waveform Pro Basic doesn't come with the DAW Essentials; and is the package I have.
I do have a simpler friendly 4-band EQ that came with some iteration of Waveform, although it might have actually come from back in the version 8 or 10 days. Compressor is also there, but it's fairly minimalistic - you have a simple knee/curve with the basic 5 or so parameters for threshold, compression, gain, and response time. The Tokyo Dawn is a nice alternative.

$69 is almost certainly the upgrade price from an earlier version of Waveform.Starkman wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 5:12 am First, I see the Pro version offered for, like, $69, but when I click Buy, now my choices start with Basic, which is $119.00 In the immortal words of the Three Stooges, "Wha happen?"
The DAW Essentials Collection in the Standard edition are external VSTs that can also be used in other DAWs. With any version of Waveform you get a set of simple internal plugins, including EQ and compression and reverb. Whether or not you'll like them is another question. I came to Tracktion after already owning a variety of 3rd party plugins.Starkman wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 5:12 am That aside, am I to understand that the Basic bundle does NOT include an EQ or a compressor; you have to get Standard to get those?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
