Mapping same midi pedal button to Record and Mark End

Hi

Basics probably but - why isn't this straightforward?

In the MSuperlooper GUI if you click record to start a loop and then click it again it "marks end".

If I map a controller pedal via CC to the Record it works to start the loop but when I press the controller pedal again - nothing happens. If I keep pressing still nothing changes - the loop is still in record from the first time I pressed it.

AFAIK the pedal is producing CC 1.
Do you have to use note on and off to start and end the loop?

The manual seems to suggest that it needs two messages not one but it's written really unclearly and doesn't include the workflow I want: To press (not hold) the pedal once for start loop. Then to press the pedal the same way once to mark the end of the loop and keep it playing. Is this possible with CC value 1 only?

Many thanks

I got this working. It turns out it's necessarily to arm the track (with a midi input) in Reaper to allow Superlooper to receive mapped CCs. This surprised me as it's outside of common midi mapping paradigm (Ableton for instance). I didn't spot this in the manual.

Then it's possible to set the same pedal do record and mark end when mapping by setting the input to "toggle".
