I kinda remember someone posting about a function that allowed you to combine multiple edits into one, possibly with the arrange track. That way you could work on different sections of the song in different edits and later combine/chain them together. I think even one of the devs replied they were glad to see someone using this function. I've searched the forum, manual and tutorial videos but since I don't know what it's called it's hard to find.

I think you are referring to 'Edit Clips'. This is an option when you drag the clip icon to a track. You have to then set the source edit for the clip. It renders the source edit to an audio clip. You can then edit the source edit as required and the edit clip will be able to be re-rendered. If that makes sense. I must admit I never really found a use for it and it also is resource hungry.
