Here is another video and in this time I'll go over a newly added feature of MSoundfactory. In the modal filter module you can now adjust the amount of resonance for each individual partial. This opens up many new possibilities. I hope you find this useful.

After playing with this for a while, it happened quite a few times that I wanted to reduce the resonance of a few harmonics, but with the current system it's only possible to increase them. So I had to change all other harmonics which can take a lot of time.
I would love to be able to also set the resonance to a negative value.
I guess a workaround is a preset where all resonances are at 50% but I would prefer to have the option built-in.
And on that note, how exactly do the individual resonances interact with the global resonance setting? Do the values simply get added together?

Each harmonic will have the exact amount of resonance that you set for it, the global resonce will make no difference. If the individual harmonics resonance is set to off, then it will follow the global resonance. Or in other words, global resonance controls the amount for all harmonics that have no resonance value set.

Thanks. Then negative resonances wouldn't make sense.
I still think it would have been more practical to have the sliders be relative to the global setting so you can quickly adjust the overall resonance while keeping the individual relationships intact. You can do it with a multi-parameter, but that's a lot of extra steps.

Yeah, it is a little bit of trouble, but a workaround would be to make a preset with the global at 0%, but all the individual harmonics at 100%. I've made a few presets like that just to save time.

@Chandler, I'm not sure I understand you correctly. What's the benefit of your preset? I'd still have to adjust all the resonances individually, wouldn't I?
What I mean is, for example, that I set the global resonance to 50% and the third harmonic to +5%. So if I adjust the global resonance to let's say 60%, the third harmonic would still have the +5% compared to the others. (or maybe some other scaling function)
I can do something similar by adding all harmonics to a multi-parameter and set the 'max value' accordingly. But then I'd have to open the multi-parameter popup every time I want to adjust the relationships. That kind of takes the fun out of it when I just want to play around with different sounds.
I understand that the main focus of MSoundFactory is to build instruments with an easy screen, but I'd really appreciate some more quality of life functions for the playful exploration of sounds.
