Hey all, new here and new to computer audio recording. Last time I did recording was on an old Roldan vs880-ex that recorded to a zip drive lol. But have a long background in IT and computers and music in general. Anyway I have a Behringer U-Phoria Um2, trying to use it with Waveform 11, and any time I select it as an audio input, I get this error:
"error when trying to open audio device! Couldn't open the input device!"
It seems to work ok with a simple app like Audacity, and windows itself, but can't get it to work with WF11. Any thoughts?

Some things to check:
1. ARE you using something else on your system at the same time? Having youtube or audacity running may keep the device
"locked" so unavailable. Does it work if you're ONLY running Waveform?
2. Did you install updated drivers for it?
3. On audio setup, what "type" of audio device is used - Windows Audio, ASIO... It makes a difference. Windows audio tends to
have latency issues, but you CAN then play youtube and Waveform at the same time. ASIO tends to give better latency optimization.

I don't believe I had anything else running that would try to use it at the time, but I will have to try again to make sure. I tried both using the ASIO drivers, and the Behringer driver. The ASIO driver doesn't seem to do anything at all, can't even see the device in the app, whereas the Behringer driver at least allows me to see the device in the menu. In the audio setup I was choosing the Behringer device that showed up, but can't remember exactly what it was called at the moment. When I test again, I'll let you know. Thanks for the response!
