MLimiterMB does it behave properly?

When I use other limiters, including MLimiterX, by reducing the threshold I get the Limiter to engage and the sound is then boosted towards the ceiling.

MLimiterMB confuses me because it only seems to get louder when I actually raise the threshold, even then it does not seem very responsive.

Any tips/pointers on proper usage of MLimiterMB?

I think it is just that your ceiling needs to be set lower to match the source. So, I use Bitwig and if my current track peaks at 4db lower than the level set for that track (just using a single track for example)...then you might want to set the MLimiterX ceiling to -4db. This would ensure that the current track max peak remains the same .. but the perceived loudness will increase.

So, Bitwig track volume set to -10db. My actual track audio peaks at -14db. I set my MLimiterX ceiling to -4db ... and the peak will remain the same when I drive the MLimiterX.

I think this is what your asking for. Hope it makes some sense...

Thanks for your response, but I'm asking specifically about MLimiterMB.

Sorry about that - I was looking at the MLimiterMB in the 'easy' 3 band and 6 band versions of the 'Ultra Maximizer' (non-edit) mode where it does as you would expect in MLimiterX

In the EDIT mode (that you're referring to), the threshold appears to work for me though it does seem counter intuitive at first .. but the INPUT (top-right) was the key for me - I was missing that initially. Pretty powerful plugin as with most Melda stuff, though I personally use the LimiterX more often.
