T3 User from way back - Now Waveform 11 won't recognize my T3 Plugins?

Greetings to all Tracktion aficionados :)

I've been a Tracktion user for YEARS; still have the original "CD's" from the physical box set.

I was using T7 for a bit, then life got in the way, then boom, Waveform 11 had come to pass etc.

I wanted to be able to USE all of the THEN available plugins - (or what I could minus any "re-registration"; likely outdated/outmoded since the original release say 10 years ago LOL).

When I do the scan, there is a massive litany/list of .dll's that Waveform tells me, "These seem like plugins, but they have failed to load...etc."

Presumably, I'm not the first to experience this.

I of course, was hoping for some insight or a possible fix to this little headscratcher :help:

PS - The "instruments" persay (like Cronox etc) are not really a concern - thought they WOULD be cool to access again, but rather more importantly, the various other "effects" like reverb, chorus etc would be nice to access - unless that is, Waveform 11 has all that cool stuff in it (I am literally just now getting it set up so maybe there is some default free stuff to use).

Anyway, back to the root issue - plugins are plugins I thought. It's just confounding why the T3 stuff is non-accessable.

Thank you all again for any input in advance.

Respectfully,
Eric

Hi Eric,

It's 99% likely that your original plugins are 32-bit format, which all DAWs have moved away from (with the exception of about two of them).

Waveform, since version 8 (I believe), requires 64-bit plugins.

You have two choices:

(1) You can upgrade existing plugins to 64-bit--quite a few of the original plugins have 64-bit versions.
(2) You need a bridge, such as jbridge or NetVSTHost to load 32-bit plugins inside of a 64-bit host like Waveform. The most popular and easy to use is jbridge, but NetVSTHost is free.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Even if you find a different 32 bit DAW or a 32 bit bridge, the old Mackie plugins will not work. They were locked to Tracktion and won't work with anything else.
