MIDI Editing - Adding a VST does nothing to some tracks (no sound)

Hello,

To "remaster" some of the MIDI files I have on my computer, I've installed Waveform Free and downloaded some VSTs.

So I import a MIDI file into my Waveform project (into separate tracks when asked for it), and adds a virtual instrument to its tracks (OT Strings), which works great for Track 3. However, for the rest of the tracks (4, 5 and 6), it does absolutely nothing. There is no sound playing for these. On the attached screenshot, you can clearly see that there are notes for these tracks which are supposed to be played as well.

Thanks in advance, I'd really like to turn these MIDIs into high quality music files.

Check the MIDI channel of each clip. Expand the bottom bar into what I like to call "useful mode". Then when you select a MIDI clip it will show you the channel and allow you to change it. Old-school MIDI has one big file and each note has a MIDI channel. When it's split into multiple tracks, the individual clips are usually set to the MIDI channel that the notes had. Now that you have them on separate tracks with separate plugins, they should probably all be set to channel 1.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yes! Each track had a unique channel assigned to it, I set them all to 1 and it's now working as intended :)

Thanks a lot, you're the man!
