Questions re: Recording rewire inputs into T1 tracks

The new SOS tips regarding T1 rewired with Reason talks about rendering the master out of T1 to disk, inclusive of rewired audio. However, no mention was made regarding whether T1 can record multiple rewired inputs to multiple tracks.

So, two questions:

1. Is audio recording of rewired inputs to T1's tracks possible at all?

2. If so, can multiple rewired inputs be recorded at once, either by rendering (off line) or in real time?

Thanks.

Ok, I did a little experiment to see what happens. I ReWired Orion Platinum into Tracktion, inserted a sampler and an Ultran in OPlat, assigned 'em to different MIDI channels and busses (OPlat has 4 stereo out busses). I can't record the audio out of OPlat realtime, just the MIDI used as input. Splitting the keyboard input and feeding both ReWire tracks (one track for MIDI channel 1/buss 1, one track for MIDI channel 2/buss 2) I could record the MIDI fine, still no audio though.

Trying to render the MIDI track to a new audio track produced a sick, crackling mess. I've had this issue with OPlat before, though, so it's probably not Tracktions fault. It did render it, though. Exporting the track as audio rendering it at 1x play speed didn't help the crackling either, so (for me) no joy there.

I'm not exactly sure if this answers your question. If you have Reason or some such, you might want to download the demo and try it yourself!

Wollyloach,

Thanks for the feedback. I know that rendering VSTi's via rewire can make things even more "interesting"

To clarify, though, my questions were related to rewiring straight audio files from, say, Live 4 (rewire slave) to Tracktion (rewire master).

I'll rephrase the questions:

1. Is recording of AUDIO inputs from a rewired slave device to T1 as a rewire master possible at all?

2. If so, can multiple rewired AUDIO inputs be recorded at once, either by rendering (off line) or in real time?

Thanks guys!
