FIXED: Please see this thread and download the latest beta if you're running 12.0.53, and recording at anything other than 44.1khz

----------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I attempted my first recording with Waveform 12 today, at the start of my practice session (on drums). I then came back to the recording at the end and found that the audio was delayed well over a minute past where it should have started, on all 12 tracks. I recorded yesterday with Waveform 11, no problems. The tracks start at the correct points, but the audio is offset and starts later.

I did import this project from version 11, is it possible something has been corrupted? It's no problem to delete it and start again as I'm not using the recording for anything.

If it were a few seconds or less, it could have been an issue with latency, but a minute sounds more like the "play head" or cursor wasn't at 0 when recording was started. Make sure you hit the << (return the head to 0) before hitting record? It's also possible you were trying looping and the In/Out markers weren't reset.

Hi Peter, that's definitely not the case - I'm playing along with a backing track so if it wasn't starting from the right point, or looping, I would definitely know about it

It does sound like a very peculiar problem. A minute is a huge discrepancy. If the recording was important, there are ways to move track contents earlier or later, for future reference. I think, rather than deleting what you did, you ought to report it (and save it in case Devs ask you to send it to them (note - they're all at NAMM 2022 this weekend)) or video the playback and post it on here to see if anyone has any ideas. If you zoom right out to get the whole piece to display in the window at once, do the late tracks show any gaps?

Hi Jabe, thanks for your reply.

I just tried recording from a brand new edit (no template), and did a very short test of a couple of bars. The problem occurred again, although this time it was only delayed by about 8 bars or so. Here are a couple of screenshots showing the problem:

This shows exactly how much was recorded

And this shows where the actual recorded part appears:

Hi,
Are you on the latest WF version? It looks like a bug that was fixed: viewtopic.php?t=579730
where resetting "Low Latency Settings" in Advanced setting fixes similar problem

Thanks Kott, looks like that thread describes exactly my problem. I'm running the same build (acquired through the Download Manager) as the OP in the other thread. I'll check out the Beta without changing any settings, and see if it fixes the issue.

Edit: Yep, that's fixed the problem! I record at 48khz.
