Disclaimer: I already have licenses for all of the current Meldaproduction compressors (MCompressor, MModernCompressor, MDynamics, MDynamicsMB, MTurboComp, and MTurboCompMB).
The lineup ranges from meat-and-potatoes to OMG. I've used them all depending on what the program material calls for. There's nothing I can't get sonically with this collection.
However, I'd still love to have an intermediate workhorse compressor between MCompressor and MModernCompressor (or between MModernCompressor and MDynamics). This would be one that has all of the features of MCompressor, especially the front-facing "processing shape" display, the ability to create custom shapes, and the sidechain filtering features.
It would also have the best features of MModernCompressor that MCompressor lacks, including a dry/wet knob, easy access to the different detector modes, and modulators.
One of the first Meldaproduction plug-ins I bought a license for was MModernCompressor, and I still like it for the easy access to the detector modes and sidechain input, but I never really figured out how to use the Level Distribution graph and missed the MCompressor display and sidechain filtering.
If this compressor existed in the lineup, it would be my "daily driver." I've heard from multiple people on other forums who say that the display on MCompressor was what helped them finally "get" how to set up a compressor. It's so easy to get that line dancing back and forth across the knee, dial in a knee that's just a little bit soft without having to know what percent equals what knee shape. And the detector modes (especially "psychoacoustic") in MModernCompressor are so useful and it's great to have them front-facing.
I know that MDynamics combines all of these features and a lot more, but the detector modes and display (and sidechain input enable) are buried a menu or two deep, and MDynamics has so many features it's....intimidating. To me, anyway. I got a heck of a deal on it in the MMixingFX bundle, but by itself, it's at a premium price point (for me).
There are more pressing issues, I'm sure, but this is my pipe dream Meldaproduction processor. Maybe I could get what I want with a "device," but all of those I've seen rely on the standard bar graph or histogram metering and don't incorporate the Processing Shape graph.
