Hopefully they will use this technology to update all of the older AmpliTube gear models to make them more accurate.

Sounds very impressive, but not sure how much of a market there is for it? Looks like it's purely aimed at guitarists with hardware. And, well, they have hardware.

There's been another thread where this has come up recently, but IMO a guitar VI that can accurately translate 6 strings to one keyboard is essentially impossible. It can do a subset of guitar stuff - strumming chords, arpeggios, leads etc. But when it comes to moving shapes up and down the fretboard which cross open strings - forget it.

Anyway. Really the only purposes I can see for this tech are:

1) guitarists with hardware to have a version of their rig on a laptop which... may (?) be useful sometimes, though an app would probably be more useful so they always have it in their pocket.

2) creating versions for other people without the hardware (kinda obvious). But that doesn't sound that's the purpose of this particular product.

I have a lovely collection of tube amps, there is no way this concept would do a thing for me now. Perhaps when I lived in an apartment but even then it has never been about the accuracy of it being a Marshall or what have you, I'm 63 and having been hearing it sounds just like a Marshall since shopping for my very first amp in 1971.

I only care about the tones I can create with either a real amp or sims (tbh have not used a sim in ten years now), the name is not what I am buying.

There is great potential for sharing here. If done right, then it could result in an ever expanding tone library with all kinds of additional outboard gear.
