I want to use Free Amp with an external cab loader - how do I switch off the cab sim in the plugin?

I've searched the forums and it seems the best way to achieve this is to turn Tone up to 100%?

Indeed, it is explained in the user manual in the Impulse Response section:
You can load your own impulse responses (IR) to add color to the amp simulation. It works with any kind of IR of any length (cabinets, reverbs, filters of any kind).
Tip: when loading a guitar cabinet IR, increase the tone setting on the amp to get more clarity and decrease the effect of the amp's included speaker simulation.
