MCabinet CPU Cyclic CPU Spikes

Has anyone else experienced that MCabinet (VST 2 and VST 3) will suddenly start having a 100% CPU spike every second or so after having been active for an hour or two. Initial instantiation it never happens... usually I find it happening after being idle for a period of time. It seems to only happen with MCabinet (both 15.x and 16.x beta)

This still happens with this plugin in 16 final... it just randomly pegs 100% CPU while idle.
