When I right click on a marker it shows that pressing Delete hot key will delete the marker.
When I actually press delete it will delete the entire audio sequence. I can't even undo it!

Shortcut keys are context specific - so the Delete only applies to the marker when you have a marker selected.

So what constitutes selecting? If left click on the marker and press delete it deletes the sequence. If I right click it and press delete it does nothing.

Hm. No, you're right - it's because the sampler is capturing the key before the sample editor timeline. What's worse, if you double click the marker to edit it, then hit escape and hit delete, the sampler's container (in my case a composer) captures the key (so my composer and the sampler got deleted)...

Marker flags don't take GUI focus so they can't process the delete key.
Thus the marker context menu should not mention any shortcut keys.
Taken note.
Solution for now: Use the mouse to select "Delete" from the marker's context menu.
