Is there a way to modify the ZebraHZ default theme?

People with astigmatism (such as myself) have a really hard time watching at GUIs with bright colors over dark backgrounds. Unfortunately ZebraHZ has a lot of those. Eg: the sequencer with bright yellow colors, the MSEG editors, etc.

I've been looking at third party ZebraHZ themes but only found the plugmon ones which I dislike for a number of reasons.

I really don't want to start a theme from scratch... I'd be happy if I could just alter the colors of the default one. I've looked into the ZebraHZ data folder but I couldn't find the theme so I imagine it's probably compiled in the VST.

Urs, would it be possible to upload a copy of the default ZebraHZ theme to a repo so that I (or anyone) could just modify it?

I'd be more than happy to make my custom theme available on Github for anyone else to download.

I found the default theme in the "Data" folder.

So I copied the scripts and images folder into a new custom theme and when selecting it, it crashed ZebraHZ lol

You only copy the script called “ZebraHZOrig” or something like that, rename it to “zebraHZ” and only leave that in the new theme folder

I had a hard time looking at it as well and I don't have astigmatism. I had made a simple adjustment by just making the knobs grayscale and I found that doing that helped. I didn't adjust any of the other things you mentioned though—just the knobs.

Also, I have the gamma set to neutral. Have you tried a darker setting?

Here it is if you want to try it while exploring some of your own adjustments:

Thanks everyone for the tips!

Adjusting the gamma was a quick and easy solution that did the trick.
