What do I have to do to get Waveform 11 to respond to a Novation Impulse (25) ?
My Novation Impulse 25 when plugged in to a USB port on my laptop IS recognized as a MIDI device in Waveform Settings and is available to select in the track input pull down. The Novation Impulse does not automatically recognize Waveform (it really likes to map itself easily to Ableton Live) but with Waveform it sets itself to respond with BASIC MIDI Channel 1 and I also have the 16 MIDI channels turned ON in Waveform.
Setting the Impulse 25 as the input source on a test track in Waveform and playing the keys there is no response in the little level meter gadget. My Novation Impulse 25 will send MIDI notes and CCs to anything else I connect it but will not respond in Waveform 11. I know Waveform 11 is installed correctly and can receive MIDI because when I plug in my other MIDI devices (such as a Roland GR-55 guitar synth) or Yamaha midi controller and set the track input to that device, I get a MIDI note responses on the input level meter gadget and can record a MIDI sequence on that track with no problem. I tried installing Automap 4 but that was a disaster and caused Waveform to crash so badly that it wouldn't even restart. I had to reinstall Waveform 11 to get it working again.
Any hints, anybody ???
Waveform 11 won't receive midi CCs from Novation Impulse

Make sure you have the lower center actions panel enabled. When you click on the input chevron, make sure MPE to note expression is turned off. Do you have multiple MIDI interfaces showing up when it's attached? Some controllers have 2 or 3 - for keys; and for in/out controls.
On the Novation, what device type is it set/autodetecting? Mackie MCU may be a good choice.
The online manual is pretty minimalistic. It could be that in Manual mode it defaults to sending MIDI data to the MIDI port instead of the USB; while when it automaps it configures it differently?
