Default output volume in MXXX

I think I read about this function in a post here I just can't find how to do it.
Is there a way to bring the output volume say -3db by default ?

I'm asking because a lot of the plugins within MXXX or presets I find are often too loud and peaking (internally).

I'm not sure what you mean, there is an output gain & you can lock it using the Lock in utilities if needed, not sure if that's what you want.

there's also the auto gain control (AGC) button.

I'm not sure if that's what you want, but you can set the output to -3db and lock it and then save it as default setting. That way, it won't change if you load devices or presets. I think that's what @MeldaProduction meant.
