Hi i am Karen...

Wow, thats so annoying build an MSEG Curve in Zebra!

- sometime i got inverted movment of bending, mouse grab and down does curve upside ? omg*
- i can change the bend typ but i dont know how exactly, via speed movment? in a specific region?..lol* why?
- i can only draw the given points value, when i hold and drag a handle...
- add and delete points via ALT-Key in draw mode, oh common ! i realy need to take my second hand...unreal*
- one click on a segment remove bending to straight line, but not vice verse
- why no setting the Loop Length via the Bar?
- missing any double click actions for delete or add points or something
- and it feels old very old and laggy...oh damn what have I bought?
- loading MSEG 4 Seconds? hahah*
- MSEG is dead for me in Zebra...only presets can help out

THIS is a bad UX.

cheers*

Yeah the MSEG editor can be improved a lot but it's more than usable once you know the quirks.

Personally I couldn't live without the MSEGs. They have become fundamental to my Zebra workflow.

Yes, Zebra MSEG editor could use a big UX update but the things you mentioned there are workaround.

click on the line flatten the curvature, you can use undo to revert.

Add/remove handle require you to use CMD/Alt + left click, you can map that hotkey combination to your mouse function button/gesture via OS or 3rd party program to macro it, so you don't need to use both hands

To change the slope curvuature type, it's hard to describe how it work with word, you will have to feel it, at different rate or slope try vertical and horizontal movement to change the type of the curvature shape ..etc

But yeah, I agree with you, for the current standard. Zebra's MSEG editor workflow feel very dated and really could use some update.

yeah sure its a work around but...getting fast into it...without any manual reading...is not easy...but sure...next one is Zebra 3...have an eye on it...

Zebra is not that bad. just this thing...

It’s improved a lot over the years, but when you compare it to more modern U-He plugins, it’s a bit of a mess. I still get frustrated that changing a wavetable also brings its modifiers. What? I mean, that could be a good idea, but maybe make it an option. Sometimes the modifier is under the parameter knob, sometimes to the left… I like using the mod matrix more. If you try HZ, you’ll find the Diva filters live in a totally different part of the interface, apart from all the other filters. Why?

I think we’re in for a treat for v3, because there’s been a lot of improvement to U-He plugins, and I’m sure Zebra will get a complete UX treatment. Until then… check out as many tutorials as you can.

Well you're changing the OSC preset not changing a wavetable. But I agree it would be very nice to be able to just change the wavetable like in Hive.

I wonder that the Suggestion-Thread for Zebra 3 is locked?
I mean its stopped at 2021...ahm...

i want to suggest something but it seems not possible right?
Is the Suggestion-Thread being refurbished by Urs and Co?

Its called in-consistency, well different Plugins different GUI and so on but this is exactly the problem for users they have too much stuff (but this is the market)...too much stuff means too much different workflows...

but changing this to make it more consistent then it works for the selling/ for the market better.
if u have an eye on a other plugin and you see....oh damn i need to do a whole other walkthrough to get a specific situation, then u maybe overthink the buy-idea. or you say: well, that is better...its intuitive...

But there is not the ONE Solution für everyone, its about time whats approved and here it comes:

Plugins should be usable without an manual. Easy, Logical, Intuitive, optional deeper.

I have an Example: In FLStudio u CAN NOT Drag a Note on the right side to stretch...u need to activate this option. Its not an Opt-Out its an Opt-IN. This and some more Things made FL hair-raising...it makes no sense to me in my way of using a DAW/ the Piano Roll.

How long its was taken to find out how to use the Arpeggiator in Zebra2...i watch very close into the ARP-Tab but dont find it.....its an Play Mode? Da hell*.
Well its much easier and faster to drop a Arppegiator just in front of the Zebra...than searching how it works.
You know GR-8 by phuturetone - ONE Click and ARP its on. ;)

In general terms I agree with the sentiment, UI wise Zebra 2 is ready for an overhaul. The good thing is that it seems to be happening.

There are some conventions and modifier keys that sit on muscle memory when interacting with UIs, so I found the MSEGs had room for improvement too. The basic operation of an MSEG should ideally require no manual reading and be frictionless. I mean moving single and multiple points. E.g. from the top of my head with not much thought.

Move point(s) value(s): drag handle and move with LMB.
Create a point: double click
Select multiple points: shift + draw a rectangle.
Add/remove a point to the selection: Ctrl + click handle
Add remove multiple points from selection: Ctrl + shift + draw a rectangle (this starts to be too advanced and have room for discussion).

Move selected points horizontally: drag handles and move with RMB
Move selected points vertically: Alt + drag handles and move with RMB

These two could also work with the cursor arrows if there is a selection.
