Groove Doctor for tempo maps, a bit dissapointed

Hi all

I have recently purchased a Waveform 12 Pro license. Although I'm new to this DAW, I have been able to do basic things due to the online training videos & material. One of the things I was very interested in is the ability to setup a tempo map quickly from freely recorded material, so the Groove Doctor feature was very welcome.

I loaded some prerecorded material stems, but this material had a dedicated click track coming from a metronome. To my surprise, Groove Doctor was unable to place any transient bars in front of the beats. Nothing, no transients detected, even playing with various and extreme sensitivity settings. I tried also lowering the clip gain, just in case it was too loud.

I tried the same with the drums track and it worked. This should be the way to go if I had no click track, but having it, it is extremely efficient for me not having to manually edit unwanted transients. This should be a piece of cake for Groove Doctor !

Don't know if there is something else to take into account. For the time being, I'm a bit disappointed with this feature :(

Best regards

Happy to report that I had two overlapping clips in the same track, so that's the reason why I did not see the transients from the Groove Doctor, the upper clip was masking it. Very happy now :-D :-D

The procedure was a bit convoluted. I used "extract groove" and the switched to the "extract tempo map", select the clip again and hit apply. Maybe it is a bug?

Sorry, for the late reply, but I wanted to chime in on this. I'm currently still quite new to this software, and seem to be making similar mistakes. I'm glad to read you got it figured out. The last time I worked with a DAW before this was, well, when they were still physical systems -- the Roland VS880-EX -- that was almost 20 years ago. So, this is a whole new (re)learning process for me. It seems very complex, but learning from my mistakes, it also seems very deep and useful. I'm digging it, though I want to rip my freakin' hair out at times. :D
