sample rate/ pitch

daft question, but, here we go.....I just updated my audio interface and changed from 44.1 to 48 as default rate in ableton. i have a mux wurlitzer patch playing and it has gone out of tune when triggered by the same midi notes in a song. I know it's to do with the change of sample rate but don't get why. can someone explain!

deleting mux and then loading it into song again fixed it!
