Hi all,
I have a Numa Compact 2x, with Midi and Audio over USB.
I Can use Waveform free as Host for my Vst, but I can use "only" one channel for time to play my Vst.
If I create 3 tracks (with 3 different Vst), when I set "Midi Input" in a track, the previous track with the same midi input goes to (No Midi input).
So my question is:
- Is possibile to set in 3 Tracks, the "same Midi input" (MIDINC2x) and use Channel (from keyboard) to send Midi Note to track1/2/3 ?
- How Can I set the track to receive from the "same" midi input, filtering by channels (track 1=channel 1;track 2=channel 2;track 3=channel 3) ?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.
Using same Midi Input to different Channels/Tracks in the same Project

Several ways.
1. There is a setting near the end of the GENERAL tab, that allows inputs to appear on multiple tracks. You can THEN filter to allow only the MIDI channel you want to get through. You have to do this each time you create a new track.
2. Probably better, if you use this a lot. Under Settings - MIDI, create multiple Virtual inputs, call them, say, Virt1, Virt2, Virt3. Input device is your Numa.
- on Virt 1, filter out all but MIDI channel 1. Do the same for Virt2, Virt3.
- you now have 4 MIDI devices. Default one will have input for any MIDI channel.
- When you select Virt1, you will get all MIDI input, but have a default filter that only allows Channel1 to pass. Ditto for the others.
- What you send on channels 1, 2, 3 are now split to the appropriate tracks.
- This is a one-time setup for Waveform, and you now have "instant access" to MIDI 1, 2, 3
