(I also come from a past where it took a lot of work to overcome confirmation bias against analogue emulations, so it feels a tad unfair that these people get away with what I perceive as half assed attempts)

You're actually one few people who can believably make that claim, as you have the original hardware and trained skills for that. I can't, but it's nice to hear that there's still something to be achieved here which might also have value for the average user?
But to be honest: I'm still not sure if I would be the target group for this.

My idea for this is to simply have such a very authentic software version as a reference, and then point out what we did in Diva, where we diverge, and why. And we'd do it not just for people out there, but for us as well.

My eyes aren't that good
