I'm trying to set up some continuous scale morphing with a few u-he synths and I have a couple of questions:

- To morph scales on the fly, i need to load the MTS-ESP MIDI Client. The only way bending this way works is if I set it to "MIDI PB", however manual says I should feed MTS supports synths with MTS Sysex dump. (But that way it doesn't work)

- Also this feels like it's redundant since I am now feeding both the midi client that sends PB and ACE the same table, so twice?

Is there any issues with this setup that i'm not forseeing?

I think I only have u-he synths with MTS supports, is continuous pitch change something that would need to be implemented on client (u-he) side?
Should i somehow disable MTS in u-he synths (and how would i do that) if I already feed it poly MIDI PB via MTS MIDI Client?

If anyone else wonders about this i got responses from both u-he and oddsound
- u-he synths currently don't support continuous tuning via MTS directly
- you generally should avoid driving an MTS enabled synth with MTS MIDI Client
- to disable MTS in u-he synths in order to drive with with MTS MIDI Client instead, simply enable "microtuning" (without loading any tunings at all)

by accident, i saw this post, more about u-he synths do not support continuous tuning via MTS-ESP. good to know, when i do use MTS-ESP.

(don't have oddsound, but have Entonal Audio/Studio and Infinitone DMT (besides some M4L devices...))

they can be driven by a midi client, like Entonal Audio, for continuous tuning? well that is question for u-he...

EDIT: this is the U-HE subforum. i was looking if the 3 most known (?) ODDSOUND, Entonal and Infinitone DMT, had each a seperate thread.

EDIT 2: Entonal Audio does not have morph, but i think scales can be changed on the fly.
i only i used Infinitone DMT for it, for changing tunings on the fly (or my memory does not work, well that is mostly the case..)

it's been a while since i tried Entonal, but afaik it doesn't have continuous tuning?
Maybe it was added after.
If you use it inside a wrapper or drive MTS via external midi plugin (like with oddsound), you need to disable built in MTS support. But generally, all these methods generally tune by doing an MPE upscale - so each midi note gets its own channel + Pitchbend info. So continuous should be possible yes

i must check it, if scales can changed on the fly, it hasn't morphing. but you can wrap a MPE synth, or you can use a midi-client that you use as source for the MPE synth.

Entonal Audio/Studio is still developed of course, and is in need for extra features. like Infinitone DMT (MPE thru as i call it...). version 2 of Infinitone is coming. hopefully with MPE thru (i.e. it let's all channel data through, now you can't play MPE, when it is connected, as a midi client (with MTS-ESP it can...)).

features are a bit scattered. o didn't know that oddsound has also a midi client, that you can use when a MPE synth does not have MTS-ESP.

to buy them all, is a bit much for me, and in the end they will have more features. so..
o well.

thanks for your reply! (so continuous tuning, not all have them, via MTS-ESP, but which ones? yes u-he, for now.)
