Small GUI in Reaper

Don't know whether this is peculiar to my laptop or Reaper or the VST. But FM8 opens up just fine as a standalone app. You can't resize it, but it's manageable.
However if I open it in the DAW (Reaper) it's teeny tiny. Again no resize option, and no setting I can find in Reaper to adjust this.
I don't have the biggest laptop screen but I can work with other vst's. Unfortunately I have to have the screen zoomed in pretty heavily as I'm blessed with crappy eyes.
Are there any solutions in these programs, or perhaps Windows itself? Thanks

I had the same issue some days ago, when I tried out Reaktor on my 14" full HD laptop. The problem is that Windows scales to 150% for the screen size and resolution, and some of the NI plugins are not resizable, and not really suited for use with high DPI or scaling, so they basically show up non-scaled as they would do on a 100% scaled full HD screen. Which means that the GUI and control elements are small.
There's nothing you can do about it. Cope with it, stop using the plugins, or hope that one day NI will do an update which offers a resizable GUI.
It's not Reaper, by the way, it's just the way these plugins work.

Click on the little "+" symbol beside the preset name ... go the "Compatibility settings" and enable "HiDPI compatibility mode when floating window": This will scale the plugins GUI according to your windows scaling when you double click the plugins name on the left hand side to float the window or I think when you open the plugin from the mixer...

I did have to take one extra step for this to work:
In the Insert Virtual Instrument on New Track dialog, check Options > Auto-float new FX windows. This was not enabled by default on my install (or maybe I disabled it years ago and forgot about it for reasons unknown

UPDATE:
With this solution, I found it only works when first instantiating a VST. In subsequent openings of the FX window, the GUI is tiny again. Reaper 6.82 on Windows 11.
Here's what I found that DOES work for me:

I'm not sure about this...as my VSTs scale correctly in other DAWs and VST hosts I've used.chk071 wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 4:18 pm It's not Reaper, by the way, it's just the way these plugins work.

They should do it like in Bitwig or Live (for example), you can right click every plugin and set it to stretch or not and only once! But that goes against Reaper's philosophy of course!jsperl wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:23 pm UPDATE:

I would be happy if they would just automatically be scaled to the VST's native size, as occurs in other VST hosts. It would probably look weird and blurry if stretched beyond that.EnGee wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 1:07 am They should do it like in Bitwig or Live (for example), you can right click every plugin and set it to stretch or not and only once! ETA: I mean, without having to search for an hour to find obscure fixes as posted above. Or even longer after a couple of tequilas.

Anyway, I have tried with Reaper and it is just the VST2 working. What I mean is there is no need to setup it globally, we can set it like other DAWs (but only VST2 versions work. The VST3 can't be stretched). It is not a biggy for me, because I have only NI synths to stretch and I can use the VST2 versions when I use Reaper:
