Adaptiverb, what do you think of it in retrospect ?

I, for one, was impressed in 2016 by the concept and the innovative aspects of this plugin,...but I just like in retrospect to debate of the quality and defects on this plugin now that it should have been experienced from far enough years to give a detailed and convincing feedback by the users
mainly in a send/return use in a mix, of course , but not only if ever...

my interest in this topic was to get a feedback of users about this totally atypical kind of reverb, or better to say synthesized reverb ...the concept seemed very seducing and promising apart from the fact it was, at the time of it release excessively CPU consuming ?

I think it's great reverb but still cpu heavy even on my M1 Pro. I didn't use it that much in the mix but mainly as generative tool for creating drones/textures with its freeze function. For this application it's pretty good as it doesn't make static sounds but there is a subtle movement in them. It's very good sound design tool.
Here are some examples of such drones.

Pretty much this, it's great for atmospheric beds sitting in the background of a track for everything else to lay on topspektralisk wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 3:02 pm I think it's great reverb but still cpu heavy even on my M1 Pro. Latency is a huge problem, in Cubase it'll make everything unworkable if it's just in the chain somewhere (unless totally deactivated). I'd love to use it in real time - it's good for a lot more than drones - but that's the real limitiation. On the few times I've used it, I've bounced the output as a send effect and rendered it as an audio file.

thanks for your inputs folks ...just have to hope for reductions of both latency and cpu imprint ...wich is rather contradictory !
