Calling Urs...How do you combine two different waves in Zebra2 using phase distortion?

Let's say I want to phase distort a saw + square wave like in the CZ. How does one do this using the Oscfx?
I saw Urs say "Oh yes, you can of course combine waveforms - just start with two sawtooths."
But I'm not sure what that means.
Thanks

Thanks! I checked those out and they’re pretty close to the CZ but are slightly off, which is fine.
So is that what one has to do? Essentially draw in the combined wave forms and have them morph into sine wavs? I guess there’s no other way huh?

FYI Bazille oscillators include phase distortion - see page 24 of the Bazille user guide

Thanks. I know zebra2 lets you do phase distortion too but I'm talking about being able to combine say, a square wave with a saw like on the CZ. Thanks

The PDF posted in the thread linked above shows how two waveforms can be combined, including going from square + saw to sine + sine. It's done by simply drawing two phases into the oscillator instead of actual waveforms, and use PhaseDist OscFX to convert those phases into the final waveform.

Not owning Zebra but I think I read somewhere that it can read .uhm scripts?
If so, you probably could make a script that imports/generates two waveforms and does some PD with them. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Zebra 2 does not read .uhm scripts... it can however export .wav wavetables from Osc 1u-u-u wrote: Fri Mar 03, 2023 4:19 pm Not owning Zebra but I think I read somewhere that it can read .uhm scripts?

They are actually almost spot onJoeLowery215 wrote: Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:09 amThanks! I checked those out and they’re pretty close to the CZ but are slightly off, which is fine.

Here are the osc presets which I created a few weeks ago , by default the modulation envelope sustain phase is halfway , set it to zero so decaying gives full modulation

The only difference is when using saw+square ( or any pair of waveforms) in bazille , it will sound an octave lower just like the cz does
Zebra Phase distortion does not when using pairs ,so you just need to set it one octave below
Here is saw+square going to sine , firstexample zebra , second Bazille
The difference is dare I say almost non existent

Zebra can do all phase distortion eccurately axcept resonant waves ( but that's windowed sync)

love bazille's oscs. I hope a more simplified version of them goes in a slightly less CPU hungry synth like zebra 3 or diva 2 someday for when I just want some cheesy CZ tones thoughHoward wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 12:15 pm FYI Bazille oscillators include phase distortion - see page 24 of the Bazille user guide

Thank you! I finally saw that and it looked like someone made most of the combinations...I thinkUrs wrote: Sun Feb 26, 2023 6:54 am The PDF posted in the thread linked above shows how two waveforms can be combined, including going from square + saw to sine + sine.
