Hey guys - I'm using UVI Drum Designer and Beatbox Anthology 2 for drums, but created some of my own samples from some old Depeche Mode Speak & Spell stuff that I'd like to use for fun.
Are there any good Mac M1-compatible drum samplers out there that might be free?

Have you checked Sitala?
It's a quite lean. I can't vouch for M1, as I'm on Windows, but it's quite well maintained.

You're definitely all set with TAL Drum, but leaving the info here in case you're interested in having a simple alternative or others having the same question: https://www.apisoniclabs.com/freeware.h ... edrum-lite.
It doesn't do much, but I enjoy using it, has the basic processing options, sample length and fade control, drag-and-drop (including pad swap), has multiple outs, resizable UI, decent preset system. I'm running it on both Win 10 and Ventura (Mac Studio, Apple silicon native mode). There's also a paid version.

This is quite nice! It's incredibly easy to use and appears to work fine on my Mac Studio. Thanks again for the suggestion!
I'm excited to try Speedrum next.

Thanks for this suggestion. This one is also really nice and has a little bit of a nice interface. Multi-out was really easy to setup in Reaper, as well.Amon1973 wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 7:11 am You're definitely all set with TAL Drum, but leaving the info here in case you're interested in having a simple alternative or others having the same question: https://www.apisoniclabs.com/freeware.h ... edrum-lite.

I think TAL Drum is also a great product, but I likely would have stuck with either of these, considering that I'm just doing some silly hobby stuff.
Thanks again, guys.

You're very welcome
By the way, sometimes I'm just happy with an even simpler solution and its built-in sounds, like when reaching out explicitly to Linn Drum sounds... For this I very much like DR-84 https://peptoaudio.blogspot.com/2022/11/DR-84.html.
Also multiple outs, a few presets based on the usual suspects vintage drum machines, an effective pitch to tighten / loosen your sounds. Dead simple, does the job efficiently, it's very stable and like Speedrum is VST2, VST3, AU Intel and M1 native. Not as slick as an interface, but I find it absolutely OK.
TAL Drum is indeed a fantastic product, likely going to get it soon too, as its features are perfect for some longer / more complex industrial samples and kits I want to build up in the short term.

You're very correct on this one. It's really nice to have a bunch of vintage kits in one place to play around a little bit. After some layering and pitch adjustments, it's basically Tears For FearsAmon1973 wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 9:15 pm By the way, sometimes I'm just happy with an even simpler solution and its built-in sounds, like when reaching out explicitly to Linn Drum sounds... All of this drum machine talk now makes me think of getting the Samples From Mars kits. There's quite a lot of content there.
Thanks again!

Is there a free, lightweight sampler that has features of Waves CR8? I don't mean something like Sitala because I need all the pitches for 1 sample. Not a drum rack type of thing.

TAL Sampler
I'm just making assumptions here, because your question is so vague that I could write a big list.
