I have an audio file along with several Midi tracks. The project has tempo changes, and the audio file was recorded taking these into account. However when I try to put the audio file on a track, it wants me to select if it should be an audio sequence, pitched sample or sliced multi-sample.
Audio sequence messes everything up because of tempo changes
Pitched sample (no it is an audio track)
Sliced multi-sample (no it is an audio track)
Where is the option to just put the audio on a track without the audio being chopped/sliced or played back via sampla. I just want an audio track.
If it is something staring me in the face then I simply cant see the wood for the trees.
I am using Mulab 8
How to SIMPLY place an audio file on a track.

I was in the same situation. I do understand that all these different ways of treating audio must be heaven for advanced users, but I also sometimes just want the "simple" way.
Take a look at this answer viewtopic.php?p=8605842#p8605842 it should apply to ML8 also.

Hey oldcastle, thanks for that. I wasn't getting the audio stream option as that only seems to work with AIFF or WAVE files and my audio tracks are mp3. So will have to convert files to WAVE. Not ideal, I would have thought an mp3 could have been used as an audio stream but seems not.
