Solo submix track

Guys & girls,

The solo/mute behaviour in Tracktion is doing my head in.

I have a submix track called Drums that contains tracks for Kick, Snare, etc.
I want to solo my kick but I don't hear output because the Drums container isn't solo'ed.
I can enable Solo Isolate on the Drums track but then that causes every other track within the drum track to solo so I don't get just the Kick.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks!

Not sure what version you're on, but here's what I coughed up:

1. Created a submix called Drums
2. Put a track inside called Kick
3. Put a track inside called Snare
4. Put a track inside called Overheads

Assigned Collective to each track, playing the Live Kit.

Press play, all tracks play.

Click SOLO on the kick track, and I hear just the kicks.

Click SOLO on snare and overheads track, and hear just those tracks.

Works fine.

Are you working with a send track? That can be a little goofy because--if you just want to hear the reverb track, it depends on the send track to send audio to it. The only way I've solved that issue is turn down the volume on the volume & pan plugin, which still allows the send to occur without the output of the first mixed in.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Thanks for your reply, I could reproduce your working setup and then figured out my problem.

My Drums container track and all my other non-drum tracks are sent to another track (named Premaster) instead of audio out and when I solo the Kick track, Premaster isn't soloed so nothing is played.
If I enable solo and/or solo-isolate on Premaster, then kick will play but so will all my other non-drum tracks that feed into it :(
The weird thing though is that I can solo the Drums container track and that will solo fine through Premaster without Premaster having solo or solo-isolate.

i.e: Drum container solo -> Audio goes through Premaster unsoloed.
Kick solo -> Audio goes to Drum container (meter moving) -> Sound does *not* go through Premaster unsoloed.

Ive also had the same thing as you with Aux Sends - You would think that an Aux Send placed before the mute/solo would still transmit. I wonder what happens with hardware mixing desks?
Its annoying to move the volume fader to test just an effects track as its difficult to restore it to wherever it was before.
